Kurokawa Award

Starting this academic year (2008-2009) Drexel University Judo Club and Main Line Judo are co-sponsoring an award in honor of Sam Kurokawa, Sam was a professor at the graduate business program at Drexel University and as an second degree black belt was the mentor to the Drexel University Judo club. Sam died suddenly in April of 2008.

The award will be given to the student associated with Main Line Judo who excels in two endeavors that Sam’s life focused on - Judo and academics The Japanese recognize the twin goals of academics and martial arts thru the phrase and concept of Bunbu Ryodo, the way of the pen and the sword, leading the award to be titled the Sam Kurokawa Bunbu Ryodo Award
